2nd Monday at Silvercrest

Well....actually last week was the 2nd Monday at Silvercrest and here are the 2 cards the Seniors made.  I CASE'd these cards from either SpiltCoast or Sudsol and I'm sorry I don't remember or I would gladly give you credit for them.

 

Stamp Sets:  Sweet Stems, Fundamental Phrases

Card Stocks:  Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Kiwi Kiss

Inks:  Pretty In Pink, Cameo Coral, Rose Red

Designer Series Paper:  Raspberry Tart

The 2nd card is just so simple but I love it's simplicity and elegance!

 

Same information as above but you add the Eyelet Border Punch.  Fold your 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card stock in half and then cut off 1/4" from the front.  The card above I actually cut off 1/2", but trust me, 1/4" looks better.

Sunshine Garden - Bonus Project!

What can I say?  I shared my cards using the Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit with my friend, Gina Taylor and look what she sent back!

  

Gina packed a 5x5 journal inside with a card AND a wonderful booklet.  I believe Gina used the booklet in a class she taught.

 

I love this 5x5 book.  Gina said that she purchased this at the M store and then personalized it with my initial.  This book will be well used for my class schedule.  I hadn't made one for this year because I just didn't get around to it.  Hurray for Gina!  I now have a very classy book for my class schedule!

 

This is the front.  The front and back are made with coasters.  The ribbon wraps around the brad to keep the booklet closed.  Very smart, Gina!  Of course I love that clear button too!

 

The inside is accordion folded and decorated with die-cuts from the kit.

Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Cards - Part 3

This is the last of the cards made with 1/2 of the Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Kit.  All of these cards are 4" x 4".

 

Here's a helpful hint.  Cut one end of the strip section at 3 3/4".  That way you can just pull whatever piece you need off the liner and put it in place.  No fuss, no muss.

 

Place brads in the center of the flowers and pop the flower up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  This took a bit of time because you have to cut the dimensionals into itty bitty pieces.

 

The piece of DSP measures 4" x 3 3/4".  Make sure you use the Scallop Border Punch on the 3 3/4" side.  That way it will fit perfectly on your card.

 

The little leaf was taken from inside one of the big leaves.  Gotta' use ALL the pieces!

 

I used the Trio Flower Punch to accent this card.

There is a special way to cut your card stock to get the most out of it.  I hope this makes sense.

On your 12" x 12" card stock cut a piece 3" x 12".  Fold this in half and this will be your 3" x 6" card.

You now have a piece of card stock that measures 9" x 12".  Cut this piece to measure 8" x 12".  Save the inch wide piece you just cut off.  You can use it for trim, cutting or punching out accents or using it as a mat.

You now have a piece of card stock that measures 8" x 12".  Cut this piece on the 12" side at 4" and 8".  This will give you 3 pieces of 4" x 8" pieces.  Fold these in half and you have 3 - 4" x 4" cards!

Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Cards - Part 2

Here's another set of cards made with the 1/2 kit of Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Kit.  These cards are all 4" x 4".

 

This card you used the Eyelet Border Punch and the So Saffron SAB Ribbon.

 

You just have to add the Certainly Celery 5/8" wide Grosgrain Ribbon.  Okay, and cut some of the card stock and DSP.

 

How tricky am I?  LOL.  The other half of the diagonal DSP is used on this card along with the 1/4" wide Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon.

 

These cards are simple and fast!

 

I love using the clear button.  It was attached with a mini glue dot placed between the thread holes.

Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Cards - Part 1

Several months ago I did a class where everyone got 1/2 of the Simply Scrappin' Sunshine Garden Kit and made 14 cards.  4 each of 3x6 and 10 each 4x4.  The class included envelopes and because the 4x4 cards would cost more to send if placed in a 4x4 envelope, everyone got regular A2 envelopes instead.

I'm going to share 4 of the cards today.

 

This card usesthe So Saffron SAB Ribbon Bundle and On Your Birthday Stamp Set.

 

This card uses Old Olive 1/4" wide Grosgrain Ribbon and the Wonderful Word Stamp Set.

Here's the last card for today.  The only addition is the Old Olive 1/4" wide Grosgrain Ribbon.

In this class you use all the textured card stock that comes with the kit, but you have oodles of self-adhesive die cuts left to make more.  I also gave everyone Whisper White Card Stock to use as an insert for all the cards.

I placed all the posts in a word document and cut them into pieces, folded them and placed them into a hat.  My DH was kind enough to draw the winning person!

BTW, I got our taxes done and send off today.  Whew!  What a relief.  I hope you have your taxes done so you can also breathe easier.

Here's another card using the SU Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die Cut.

 

I made this card for a swap and it was also one of the cards made at my March Card Club.  When I make more than one card, I do it all in steps.  I cut all the card stock, stamp all the pieces so I can make them assembly line style.  When I was picking up the curly label piece, 2 of them were stuck together and that's how I figured out the weaving them together thing.

Stamp Set:  Sweet Stems (I can't remember or figure out where the words came from)

Card Stocks:  Textured Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White

Inks:  Cameo Coral, Pretty Ink Pink, So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss

Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die Cut

HELLO!!!  Yes, I'm back.  I bit off WAY more than I could handle in March so my blogging and newsletter and making my class hand-outs suffered.  I am going to catch up this month because it just couldn't get any worse!  LOL.

This is my 200th blog post!  While that may not mean much, to me it's a big deal.  When I first started this blog, I figured I would post once or twice a week.  Well, then I found how much fun it was and posted more than that and then I found out how much work it was and then started to post less or not at all.  Silly me!  I LOVE sharing and this blog lets me do that.  Here's my share for today.

The Stampin' Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die Cut is one of my favorites.  Here's a card I did.

 

I love that fact that you can move the Curly Label piece any where on the front of the card.  How do you get that weird looking embellishment on the front?  Let me show you.

 

Place the Curly Label Die Cut in one of the corners.  Place a 2 1/2" square piece of card stock on top of the die and cut out.  You need to do this twice.

 

Your 2 pieces will look like the above card stock.

   

Cut your pieces by trimming around the score lines.

 

Now take your 2 pieces and kinda' weave them together.

 

Once you have the 2 layers where you want them, glue them together.

 

Here's the finished embellishment.  Now you just glue it in place.

 

This is the inside of the card.  I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place the flower stamp.
